Today was a fairytale.

Sigh. Today was just one of those days where I can sit back, feel fulfilled, and know that all is beautiful and right with the world.

First off, cyber-hugs and cookies for my fabulous commenters: Marta, Sabrina, Marina (I don't wear earrings unless I really feel the need, and I paint my nails on occasion, and I have dyed my hair more times than I can count), Jess (I am using your suggestion for "why today is awesome, thanks!), Aunt Shana, Alycia, Rebecca, Joey, James, and Alexander (it doesn't matter how well you write, start a blog anyway. And come back and tell me about it, and I'll read it).

Today started with me feeling terrible physically. I took a nap, woke up around two, got ready and made my FTFK video, which I thought came out rather well.

Things started picking up around five thirty when my good friend Taylor came over. Me and him have generally been super close since the summer before twelfth grade and we just sort of click. He is genuinely one of the sweetest guys I have ever met. Like everything he does just exudes adorable. But I hadn't seen him since graduation, so I texted him the other day telling him I missed him, and we made plans.

Basically he showed up at my house, and we spent some time catching up. We talked about our plans for next year (we're both staying local, thank goodness) and how his girlfriend, Dylan, is in Michigan and what we would have done differently with our senior year if we had the chance. It kind of makes me want to tear up just thinking about it.

Then my dear friends Amy and KTG$ (her name is Katie, but we all call her KTG$, so that's what she will go by in this blog) showed up, and made everything that much more wonderful. We sat around and played Never Have I Ever, made a Facebook profile for my dog, and other shenanigans.

Then we went to Chili's, blaring Metro Station's "Seventeen Forever" the whole way there, where we ordered Southwestern Eggrolls (my absolute favorite, ever) to share and played Truth or Dare. Which was hysterical. KTG$ had to spank everyone. And I had to share my porn habits. It was grand. We followed up the eggrolls with a brownie sundae (which was nothing but glorious, if Jared Padelecki were a food item he would be that sundae) and more smiles.

Taylor had to leave shortly after (but with promises to see each other again soon) but Amy and KTG$ and I watched the Sam Winchester sex scene in "Heart" and then the episode where Jo gets kidnapped by the creepy rapist ghost and we bitched about boys. Not really any specific boys (except for on Amy's part) just boys in general. And then KTG$ massaged Amy's knee.

Oh and we ate Oreos. With peanut butter. And milk. And then my dad walked in and asked for the peanut butter back. And Amy handed it back to him all creepy and awkward-like. Another Patronus moment. This day was full of those.

Anyway. They went home a short while ago, and I am filled with nothing but satisfaction, as I sit here on my couch, listening to Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift, generally, serves as my life soundtrack only when I feeling either angsty or content. She doesn't really suit any other emotions, for me. Amy left behind this book from the 1960's about how to throw great parties. Which, I'm sure, will provide great entertainment for me tonight while I try to overthrow morning nap-induced insomnia.

I love my friends. And everything about this life that I lead. My Aunt Shana made an excellent point (well, this is just one of many "excellent points" that she has made) while we were eating at Five Guys last Friday. She mentioned how it's actually a good thing that I don't have a boyfriend at this point in my life. Because there will be nothing stopping me from getting on a plane and pursuing my dreams. And it applies to so many other aspects of my life... It's just overwhelming how truly wonderful things are for me right now. This is just one of those times where I wonder how I can ever be sad, when the good outweighs the bad, by an incredible amount... Okay. I'll stop babbling now. Goodnight readers. I love you dearly.

Why today is awesome: Why ISN'T today awesome? Dear god. Okay. I'll pick one. Southwestern Eggrolls. They are too beautiful to be of this world.

  1. I always feel so odd reading these blogs.
I feel like I'm creeping on you because I rarely ever comment because I never know what to say. Blah, yay for rambling. ahah.
When I was younger, I tried the peanut butter and Oreo thing because I saw it on Parent Trap. Needless to say, I didn't like it but pretended I did because it was on Tv. Being young was fun.

  2. I'm so happy that you had such a lovely day. My day was the polar opposite but reading your blog made me smile because at least someone I admire is finding happiness in her life. Blah, I don't know what to say, my stomach feels sick and I don't know. Sorry for the crappy comment.

  3. Aren't oreos and peanut butter an amazing combination?
Your Aunt is definitely correct about the boy thing. Spending your last summer before college with friends is far more delightful.
I'm the same way with Taylor Swift. Somehow, there is a song by her that fits every angry mood I ever have.
I hope everything remains fantastic for you :D

  5. yay for a super good day with awesome friends! whenever you write about them and such it always sounds like you have such a good time. truth or dare sounds like it was very interesting and making a profile for your dog is pretty cool too. xD
okay, so usually when i read your blogs, i want to eat all the yummy foods you talk about. this time you've confused me. southwestern eggrolls and oreos with peanut buttter. never have i tried eggrolls or have had that oreo & peanut butter combination thing. but you seem pretty fond of eggrolls, so maybe i'll give those a chance sometime along with the oreos and such. i should try more foods anyway.
and i really am glad you had such a good and happy time with your friends and such. :]

  8. Hey :)
I just read your post about your cats.
I completely agree that cats are smart, and anyone who doesn't think that animals have feelings are stupid !
I love the story about how you got the kitten for your boyfriend and ended up keeping him. I just got a kitten 6 days ago, I named her Maisy :)

    I love reading your blog,

  10. Sounds like a good day!
I loved your FTFK video. Your hair and fashion is awesome. It's always fun to see what you have on. (:
Truth and dare is an amazing game. But, for me it usually gets gross fast. My friends like to make me lick odd surfaces.
Eggrolls are like, my favorite food, in the world.
I found out there is a Five Guys about an hour and a half from my house. I'll have to check it out sometime.
